Mica, muscovite

Mica A810 Coarse flake.

Mica is a naturally occurring mineral. There are several forms muscovite being a very common type. Micas occurs in thin layers, therefore flake easily. They are used in fireproofing, electrical equipment as an insulator and fillers and extenders in plastics and paints.

This particular grade is suitable for fillers, oil well drilling mud as a circulation loss agent, and art projects.

Cosmetic uses for mica are in blushes and pearlescent looks.

Eisenglass is a trade name for a mica used in older woodstoves, heating stoves as it is somewhat transparent and heat resistant.
